My design approach focuses on creating gardens that are visually impactful, aligned with each client’s vision, and connected to their setting as they mature over time. Drawing on my background in art and design, I shape planting compositions through horticultural knowledge and years of experience with color and composition in painting, with an emphasis on native and well-adapted species. Annuals and perennials are incorporated in response to each project’s scope and budget.

I approach garden maintenance as an ongoing process of stewardship, grounded in hands-on experience from carpentry and farm work. The work includes skilled pruning, soil management and amendment, weeding, seasonal cutbacks, and monitoring for insects and disease—supporting plant health, structure, and long-term vitality.

Pruning is offered as a specialized and standalone service, with a focus on the careful shaping and long-term health of small trees and shrubs. Guided by plant biology, growth habit, and seasonality, pruning maintains structure, encourages flowering, and supports overall plant vitality.
